Here we go again

Once again we are home waiting on the whims of nature.  Hurricane Ike is currently plowing through the Gulf and they are predicting that we could be seeing winds up to 80 mph and several inches of rain by Saturday afternoon.

We are planning on staying here at home, and even planning on losing power after the storm.  If it seems that the power outage will last for more than a day or so, we will be on the road and headed to someplace else as soon as it is safe to leave.  Most likely we would head east.

They are talking about storm surge being over 2 feet higher than during Hurricane Rita.  This could put Lake Charles under a foot or more of water.

They will be starting a curfew in the parish at 10AM on Friday.
